Beanstack Frequently Asked Questions

 1. How do I sign up for Summer Reading using Beanstack?

On the library's Beanstack site, click “Register an individual or family” and follow the instructions. If you are a parent/guardian, you will have the option to register yourself first and add children to your account. This keeps all Summer Challenge accounts in the same place and makes it easy to keep track of everyone’s activities and reading logs.
You may also sign up through the Beanstack app. Download the free Beanstack app, search for Uxbridge and follow the instructions to create your account in the app. If you are a parent/guardian, you will have the option to register yourself first and add children to your account. This keeps all Summer Challenge accounts in the same place and makes it easy to keep track of everyone’s activities and reading logs. Once you have created an account, the app allows access to the reading log and activity tracks.

 2. Do I have to sign up for Beanstack to participate in Summer Reading?
Not at all! Traditional print reading logs are always available. Simply note the number of books you read each week on your log. Then bring your log to the library and show a staff member how many books you read that week to be entered in that week's raffle. However, we recommend using Beanstack so that you can experience its fun and creative features and stay motivated as you engage with summer reading in a new way!

 3. How do I log my reading or activities?

In one swipe! Flip your book over and use your phone to scan the barcode on the back. Boom, you're done. Seriously, the Beanstack mobile app makes it that easy. If you want to get fancy, you can also enter the number of pages, minutes, or hours (nice work!) that you read. Any activities will be there on your screen—just click the ones you've done.
Prefer to use your computer to log your reading? No problem. You can always enter your reading through your Beanstack account online, too.
